According to Wikipedia, Special Needs is a term used in clinical diagnostic and functional development to describe individuals who require assistance for disabilities that may be medical, mental, or psychological. Some of our SAHDs have children that have what our host prefers to call different needs, and along with an experienced educator and group home supervisor for special needs children they discuss the ways their children learn, play, and grow.
