Hugh Hefner died this September gone. A man whose Playboy magazine influenced every adolescent of the ’70s and ’80s. In this episode we talk about Playboy, what it meant, and that super fuckin’ confusing time. And you know, what the death of Hugh means to future generations.

Host’s Note: The reason this show was delayed a few weeks is that with all the sexual assault scandal it just seemed wrong.  Here we are about to release a show that talks in no small part about a magazine that glorifies a lifestyle of male sexual bravado, all while the ‘me too’ movement gains steam. So I want to say without equivocation: SAHDPod wholly supports women as equals and sees no room for the types of sexual innuendo, unwanted touching, blackmail, assault, etc that we’ve heard about in the news at the tail end of 2017.  And nor have we ever – I certainly haven’t.  That being said, we all – male and female – grew up horny and clueless teenagers.  This show was intended to look at that, using the death of Hugh Hefner as a cultural touchstone for us Gen-X dads.  Please don’t judge us too harshly – Cheers, Dave.
