S01 E14 Raising Children with Special Needs

According to Wikipedia, Special Needs is a term used in clinical diagnostic and functional development to describe individuals who require assistance for disabilities that may be medical, mental, or psychological. Some of our SAHDs have children that have what our host prefers to call different needs, and along with an experienced educator and group home supervisor for special needs children they discuss the ways their children learn, play, and grow.

David Torrelio:  33 years old and originally from western PA, before becoming a full-time stay-at-home dad, David spent the majority of the last 10-years as a pilot flying Canadair Regional Jets up and down the east coast and to the Midwest and Gulf states.  Father to beautiful 9 month old Ella, in his free time he plays Xbox, dabbles in beer production, cycles and plays pickup soccer on a Sunday in the Riverside/Avondale area. Jeffrey Cole:  Originally from the great state of Ohio – home of The Ohio State Buckeyes – the Navy brought Jeff to Jacksonville 5 years ago, at which point he and his family decided to stay and enjoy the warmer weather. A stay-at-home dad since his daughter was born in Sept of 2014, he now considers himself part-time since he is currently attending school to become a physical therapist assistant. Justin Geary:  Almost 39 year old Justin is the one of state’s rare native Floridians. Raised in Orlando, he describes himself as a part-time realtor and a full-time stay-at-home dad to his 7-month old son, Cameron.
